July 11, 2009

You could be spending $300, $400, even $500 too much for your auto insurance every year. Want to know how get cheap car insurance quotes in just a couple of minutes and put that money back in your pocket? Here’s how …

Examine Your Policy

Most of us never take the time to read our car insurance policies, much less understand them. Yet making a few changes in your coverage can save you hundreds of dollars on your insurance premium. Here are three things you can do to save a bundle your auto insurance premiums.

Increase Your Deductible

Your deductible is the amount of money you have to pay before your insurance company pays a claim. Simply raising your deductible by a few hundred dollars can save you hundreds of dollars on your car insurance every year.

Install A Security System

Most insurance companies will give you a discount if you install a security system on your car. Installing an alarm or an anti-theft device will not only save you money, it will give you peace of mind.

Decrease Your Mileage

The number of miles you drive has a direct bearing on the amount of money you’ll pay for insurance. To cut down on the amount of miles you drive, try carpooling to work or even taking the bus a few times a week. You might also cut down on your weekly shopping trips.

Shop Online

The best way to get cheap car insurance quotes is to comparison shop online. It’s fast, it’s easy, and it’s free.

First time buyer (car), can my mom put me on her insurance?
I have about $1,000 saved up, and I was planning on just buying a cheap Honda or whatever, cash for around $900.

So after find a few cars, I went to see a progressive insurance quote.

$500 a month.

The lowest I think was around $340~…

Wtf?

There’s no way in hell I’m paying $300-500 a month for a car that’s only $900, that’s way more than the car’s actually worth.

So can my mom put me on her insurance? She lives in Arizona, I live in Florida.

Or can the people I live with put me on they’re insurance?

Have the car put in your mother’s name. Then you can be on her insurance, but it is still going to cost someone money. If you can’t afford to pay for insurance, you can’t afford a car.

Only the owner can insure a vehicle. You must have a really bad driving history if your insurance will be that high.

have someone with a good driving record the older they are the better, make sure you insured your car with a minimum requirement for your state, the insurance will try to sell it to you with everything included sometimes when you dont even need it. Do not insure your car with full cover, its not worth it $900 bucks if you hit someone might as well buy a new one instead of having your company fix it.Lastly shop around progressive isnt the best. i was 16/male and went to statefarm they quote me $1700 for 6 months. So i went with a different company now i’m 18 paying $700 bucks with all state shop around for the cheapest.

Btw if you want to save money work hard and buy a better car believe it or not the newer the car the more likely your insurance will cost you,new cars are safe stuff weird but trust me.My friend is payin not alot more for his 350z compare to my camry lol
