Should online car insurance companies be avoided?

Should online car insurance companies (GEICO, Progressive, Esurance, etc.) be avoided? Why or why not?

No,there is convenience of being able to view your coverage, policy, order i.d. cards, file claims, and make changes to your policy 24 hours a day. The only downside I have seen is due to the actual consumer NOT paying attention to the e-mails that require one to review/sign and return the documents to finalize the binding of the policy.

Any online insurance carrier however, when in doubt of their stability or credibility, should check them out through the Department of Insurance prior to purchasing anything though.

No these companies should not be avoided. they usually offer the cheapest premiums, and they do this since they do not have to pay for all the employees in each city to sell insurance. I am with an online insurance company, and they are great, they give me the best rates, and I can call them 24 hours a day, for questions I have.

it is win-win
